Hey dudes! yeah, we haven't posted for a while... fine, a VERY long while. So here it is - THE NEXT POST! *drumrolls*
Hehe... so, environmental stuff - have you guys been reading the newspapers? If you have, then you'll know about this thing called El Nino, which is like the warming of the Pacific currents, and this affects the whole friggin world! The last one was in 1997/98, and the worst thing is.... sceintists fear that it's coming back! *oh no*
Yeah, so be careful and don't die, okay? Cuz during the last El Nino, a LOT of people died. Of heatstroke, I think.
You see? Global Warming is Real. Just believe us. It's true. We're not scaring you or anything. There are experts who say that the temperature may go up by 5 DEGREES CELSIUS by the end of this century! Do you know what will happen to our kids? Our grandkids? Really, this is freaky. If you're not already scared by now, then... you should be. Haha kidding. But just do your part, alright? We will be forever indebted to you for living the Era of Consequences legacy. Thank you.

Here are two jokes.
O What did the sea say to the shore?
Ans: It did not say anything, it just waved. (Get it? WAVE...haha)
O What did the mermaid say to the other mermaid?
Ans: "Long time no sea!" (Understand? see-sea...)
But the sea is actually important to us, because the exposed surface of the water acts like a mirror and reflects the sun rays back (the sea is a big mirror), so we should try not to waste water. Water is very precious.

In simple terms, global warming is the when the temperature of the earth increases due to human activities. When the temperature rises, the ice melts into water and the sea levels rise, and the amount of land decreases. The populations of the animals whose survival depends on the ice (eg. polar bears and seals) will decrease and soon many animals will be extinct.
And considering how there are nearly seven billion people living on this earth and the land available is only 29% of the earth, it's kind of squeezy don't you think? So we cannot afford to have our land shrinking.
"Right, joke time!"
joking lah...
but we should stop cutting down trees... so if you all use those pencils that need to be sharpened, use it till you cannot use it anymore, and print double sided for paper, and always throw unwanted paper into the recycling bin... ooh i have a pencil joke...
What did one pencil say to the other?
Ans: To be or not To be? (2B or not 2B)
hahaha :D

Okay... so except for the first joke of the last post, the rest of the jokes were not related to global warming, which we are trying to raise awareness of, so maybe this 'better random post' will be better... hee hee...
O How do you reduce the temperature of the earth drastically in just ten seconds?
Ans: You convert the temperature from Farenheit to Celsius ...hahaha
O Why are partyers against global warming?
Ans: With global warming, the amount of ice cream and party ice is getting lesser and lesser...
Okay... These are all jokes but these are just to make this blog more interesting... Actually, global warming is not a joke, which we would like people to know through this blog, and we all hope that people reading this blog will actually try to save energy in their homes and spread the word.
Even if what you do seems small, it actually contributes a lot to stopping global warming! For example, if everybody cuts their air conditioner usage for at least two hours everyday, the amount of energy saved is huge! We have posted many simple ways with which you can fight global warming in your everyday lives and we hope that you will actually do it.

Hi, we have been receiving queries to update our blog more often, so to perk you up, we shall inject some fun into this post, called the 'random post'. Lean back, relax and enjoy!
O A red house is made of red bricks, a blue house is made of blue bricks , a yellow house is made of yellow bricks, then what is a green house made of?
Ans: Glass (you know, GREENHOUSE?!hahaha)
O What mouse walks on two legs? sub-ans: Mickey Mouse
What duck walks on two legs?
Ans:All ducks!!! (bet you said Donald Duck...hahaha)
O In an airborne plane was the pilot, a president, a schoolboy, an old man, an a stewardess. The plane suddenly went downwards, and the pilot screamed,"Quick grab a parachute and jump before the plane crashes!" "But there are only four parachutes!"the stewardess shrieked. The pilot ignored her, grabbed one, and jumped. The president grabbed one and jumped too. And so did the stewardess. The old man turned to the boy and said,"Take the last one, my old life was going to end sooner or later anyway." The boy turned with a smile and said,"It's OK. There are two more parachutes left. The president took my schoolbag."
hahahahaha
Well, that's all for now...

Being green can be really simple. There are actually many ways that you can do your part by practising the 3 'R' s, namely reducing, reusing and recycling. Here are a few easy tips to get you started!
- When you use paper, be sure to use both sides. If you print documents, print double-sided.
- You can convert kitchen waste to compost if you have a garden.
- Buy refillable pens when possible. Also, you might like to buy pens made out of recycled materials e.g. Pilot's BeGreen range, etc.
- Save the plastic bags you get from the supermarket to store rubbish in, or to reuse next time. (You can store them in a container.)
- Sell all your used home appliances, old furniture and old newspapers (there is a lot) to the rag-and-bone man when he is around your estate.
- Use reusable bags or reuse the plastic bags you have at home when shopping, especially if your goods are heavy. Try not to use the plastic bags provided by the supermarket if possible.
- Return empty printer cartridges to the service centre.
- Give away old clothes, toys and books to the Salvation Army.
- Buy local vegetables instead of imported vegetables. This saves on fuel as the vegetables are transported a shorter distance.
- Do not let your car engine idle for more than two minutes.
- Switch off your airconditioner and use the fan whenever possible, or if you really cannot stand the heat, up the air-conditioner temperature to anything from 23 degrees to 25 degrees.(you can save money too)
These are just eleven ways you can contribute towards fighting Global Warming. We are sure you will be able to find more ways to go green. Just stop and look around you and try to spot ways in which you can be more environmentally-friendly.

We are The Era of Consequences, a group dedicated to fighting Global Warming.
We believe that if we all do our part, we can help stop Global Warming. You, too, can make a difference. Stopping Global Warming is not just an obligation. It is our duty as inhabitants of the Earth.
Everything brings us nearer to our goal: even if your action seems trivial (switching off your computer instead of putting it on standby mode, etc.), it does count! Regardless of whether you are nine or ninety-nine, you can play a part in this. Do not underestimate your ability. Take small steps and you will be amazed by the results. Together, we can achieve this.
